Bryan has a great many unexpected kitchen utensils for a man’s kitchen. Not only did I find a blender (great for blending garlic and onion together into a paste), he has a god to honest steamer. It comes in 2 parts, the bottom pot where you fill with water and the top portion with holes on its base that allow the steam to rise through. I used it to steam custard, by placing the cups of custard into the steamer for 20 mins before chilling it for another 30 mins.
He also has a garlic crusher. NO MORE CHOPPING OF GARLIC WOOHOO!
September’s issue of Simply Her magazine came with 32-page mini cook book of 15 simple dishes to cook at home. The recipes were contributed by celebrity chef Forest Leong and a bunch of Simply Her readers, the recipes were easy to follow with ingredients readily available from FairPrice Finest.
Stir-fried chicken with mushrooms, made with Bovril and honey.
Soya Curry Prawn with pineapple. I never realised cooking curry was this easy. All you need is to fry a paste of garlic and onions together with curry powder. Add milk and voila, curry! Here we used soy milk as a substitute for coconut milk. Great for those lactose intolerant!
Chilled custard topped with fruits.
