Weekend Wrap-up: Tricia & Eugene’s Wedding

Love story of the century finally happened. some of you have already heard the story, but for those who haven’t, Tricia and Eugene have known each other for most of their lives, where one was a choir girl and the other an altar boy. They grew up as friends but drifted when they entered adulthood. fast forward many years and they were friends again, becoming best friends, seeing each other getting in and out of relationships with other people while being there for each other. as friends.

and finally the day came when the time and opportunity was right and Eugene made his move and Tricia, after thinking long and hard about it, said yes let’s give it a try. They made the big announcement to their dodgy internet friends on, where else but the internet and we were so pleased. nothing better can happen to this couple than the both of them.

The party was held at District 10, where the old Monk’s Hill Secondary school used to be at Newton. I’ve never been there before the wedding but it has received mixed reviews on food websites. the couple had a lot of trouble with the event management team while planning the wedding, which made me a little hesitant about choosing a non-ballroom venue for a wedding as they usually do not have the experience to handle something as important as a wedding party.

However that night itself turned out pretty okay, except for very minor hiccups like they left the reception table in the dark because “the restaurants is supposed to be dimly lit except for the main dining area”. and they didn’t have a pair of scissors I could borrow that the waitress came back with a knife for me to cut paper with. Also they decided to pull a last minute monkey stunt and said they will only serve a set number of pork vs fish meals and we had to keep track not to burst the total number, to which this was not agreed upon at all.

Parenthood: Grey is sick

It was a weekend of trips to the vet with Grey. He had been sulking in his corner (which was normal), but according to Bryan, not eating nor drinking (rather abnormal) not pooping and worse of all, throwing up bile. Grey has never thrown up before and at first, I assumed it was hairball. but after cleaning up 4 bile puddles in 2 days, I told Bryan it’s time to get Grey checked, we took him to Animal Recovery Centre (Bukit Timah).

There were 2 retrievers at the clinic, a goldie and a blackie. They were so friendly, one came for pets on the head, which i obediently gave. He then placed his head on my lap and left a slobbering mess on my lap -_-

Weekend Wrap-up: Tricia’s Kitchen Tea Hen Party

Tricia’s getting married soon so we decided that she deserves a hen party. However the lovely bride didn’t want too big an affair so we had a small do at Germaine’s, who generously volunteered to plan and prepare EVERYTHING. I need friends like that around me.

since Tricia’s favourite colour is Green, we decided to throw a Green tea party for her. Germaine cracked her head thinking of green food and decorations. There was pesto pasta, cucumber with dips and stuff. on the lefthand side, you can see the green cupcakes I attempted for this party.

Weekend Wrap-up: Happy Birthday Angelia // Irene’s House Warming

A double celebration of sorts. Angelie’s 19th birthday and Irene’s house warming party. We didn’t know what to get for the home of Martha Stewart of the East so we packed a goodie bag from Jones the Grocers.

Basket from Arab Street, care of Germaine.

Sweet & Savoury from Jones the Grocer (Dempsey). I had a pink theme going; pink tea pot, pink biscuits, pink anchovies dip pink chocolate, pink sea salt, and pink jam. then I realised the inside of the basket wasn’t pink.

Weekend wrap-up: Happy Birthday Michelle!

We celebrated Michelle’s birthday at Brussels Sprouts (Playground at Big Splash, East Coast Park) over the weekend. She likes to hang out there because it’s a really relaxing place with good food and a small play area for kids. She can leave her kids at the field in front of the restaurant while she and her husband have a relaxing weekend lunch. Note to self, don’t go during lunch time.

Facing the sea, it’s a little building surrounded by greens.

Weekend wrap-up: SMAC (Tinymich edition)

In this month’s SMAC (Single Malt & Cigar Club), Tinymich makes a guest appearance as she returns from I dunno where to Singapore for a visit. Held at Germaine’s place (thank you for hosting again), it was a rather loud affair because there were more people than usual and everyone was talking at once. As James put it, there was a cloud of conversation floating over the dining table that we had to shout over to get to the other side.

many jokes were made over Angie’s hovering hand over Christine’s left boob. which upon posting I realised was cut off by wordpress. hmm, css censorship?
